Dornoch Cathedral, located in the town of Dornoch in the Scottish Highlands, was founded around 1224 by Gilbert de Moravia, the Bishop of Caithness, who is also buried there. Originally a Roman Catholic cathedral, it became part of the Church of Scotland after the Reformation in the 16th century. The building suffered extensive damage during clan conflicts, particularly when it was burned by the Mackays in 1570. Restoration began in the 19th century under the patronage of the Countess of Sutherl
