Legendary Concerts on Instagram: "This clip is from Allison Smith’s performance of “Tomorrow” from Annie, a moment that later took on a second life online. Decades after this broadcast, the opening line she belts — “The sun’ll come out…” — was flipped and sampled in rap edits and meme remixes, turning her innocent Broadway delivery into an unexpectedly iconic intro in hip-hop internet culture. What started as a clean, classic musical-theatre performance from the early ’80s ended up becoming one

Raw History Clips on Instagram: "In March 1982, Twelve-year-old Allison Smith is belting the opening of "It's the Hard-Knock Life" as Annie in the iconic musical. With its fast, rhythmic, street-tough chant delivered over a pounding piano, her performance unintentionally channeled the raw vocal energy of early hip-hop pioneers like Run-D.M.C. at the very moment that genre was exploding in her native New York City. Decades later, the vibe was so undeniable that Jay-Z famously sampled the song for

“It's like a war...it's chaos, and it's not over.” Protests over school conditions and workers’ rights in France have been accompanied by riots and looting in recent days. A Paris boxing shop owner, Yannick, says rioters stole about 70% of his store’s merchandise, leaving behind shattered glass and a ransacked shop. He also tells CBS News’ @Aidan Stretch that when he called the police for help, they said they could not respond. #france #francetiktok #protest #paris
