Over 120 ancient rock-hewn churches lie hidden high in the Gheralta Mountains of northern Ethiopia. Each hand crafted over 2,400 years ago, many are only reachable on a narrow track that scale up the side of mountains, and inside they have elaborate frescos and murals, and some treasures that included ceremonial fans, silver crosses and goat-skin books.
